Combine PDF documents in browser memory
A typical merge service uploads every contract, invoice, or form to remote infrastructure before returning a download. VeloFile uses pdf-lib in the browser instead: it reads the selected files, copies their pages in order, and writes a new PDF without sending the source bytes anywhere.
How to merge PDF files
- Choose two or more PDF files in the order they should appear.
- Select Process locally. Each page is copied into a fresh document.
- Download the combined PDF and clear the workspace to release temporary memory.
Quality and file size
Merging does not rasterize pages. Searchable text remains searchable, vector logos stay sharp, and images retain the resolution stored in the source file. Because resources are rewritten into a new document, the result size may differ slightly from the sum of the originals.
Large documents
The browser must hold the selected inputs and the generated output in available memory. For very large files, close unused tabs and process smaller groups. VeloFile updates progress between inputs so the interface remains responsive during normal workloads.
Can I merge password-protected PDFs?
Remove protection first with the Unlock PDF tool and the correct password, then merge the unlocked files.
Is there a free limit?
Merging is free during the pilot. For stability, a batch is limited to 30 files and 500 MB total.
Will the combined PDF contain a watermark?
No. VeloFile does not add watermarks, banners, or advertising pages.
