Terms of service

These terms govern your use of VeloFile at velofile.com. By using the site you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the site.

Who provides this service?

What the service is

VeloFile provides file tools — converting, compressing, merging, splitting and similar operations on documents, images and audio. The work happens in your own browser. Our application code does not upload your file contents, file names, passwords or results to a server. There is no account and nothing is stored on our side.

Because the processing runs on your device, the speed and the outcome depend on your browser, your operating system and the memory available to the tab. Some formats rely on codecs your browser may or may not provide.

What you may use it for

You may use VeloFile for personal or commercial purposes, free of charge, within these limits. You must not:

• use the site to process material you have no right to process, including copyrighted work you do not own or have permission to use;
• remove a password or other protection from a document you are not authorised to open;
• use the site for anything unlawful, or to produce material that is unlawful where you are;
• attempt to disrupt the site, circumvent its limits, or automate it at a scale that degrades it for others;
• present VeloFile as your own service, or resell access to it.

Because files never reach us, we cannot inspect what you process and we do not monitor it. Responsibility for what you put through the tools is entirely yours.

Your files and your rights in them

You keep every right in the files you process and in the results. We claim no licence over them, for the simple reason that we never receive them.

The site and its code

The VeloFile name, design and code belong to the operator. Third-party open-source components are used under their own licences. Nothing here transfers ownership of the site to you.

No warranty

VeloFile is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, that a conversion will succeed, or that a result will be fit for any particular purpose.

Keep your originals. A conversion can fail, lose formatting, or produce a file that will not open. Never use VeloFile on a file that is your only copy.

Limits on liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, the operator is not liable for lost or corrupted data, lost profit, lost time, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you keep the statutory rights your local law gives you; these terms do not replace them.

Paid features

The service is currently free in full. If paid features are introduced later, their price, scope, billing terms and refund policy will be published before purchase and will not change what you have already paid for.

Availability and changes

We may change, suspend or discontinue the service, in whole or in part, at any time. We may update these terms; the version published on this page at the time you use the site is the one that applies. Material changes will be noted with a new date below.

Ending your use

You may stop using the site at any time; there is no account to close. We may block access if these terms are breached.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Romania, and disputes fall to the courts of that jurisdiction, without affecting any right you have to bring a claim where you live.

Privacy

How files, browser storage and optional statistics are handled is described in the privacy notice, which forms part of these terms.
